The following is a short report sent to the Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign about the living conditions of working class families in Ahvaz.
Gheyzaniyeh Rural District is facing severe deprivation and some of these villages are even deprived of piped water, which shows the severity of scarcity.
In Gheyzaniyeh, Ahvaz, some villages are surrounded by oil wells, many oil pipes can be seen in them, but there is no sign of water pipes. Most of Gheyzaniyeh villages do not have schools, health centres and parks.
The Militant Women of Ahvaz and the Vanguard Socialist Workers’ Cell work to raise the consciousness the community of deprived women and the women’s right to establish special and independent organisations to defend their interests.
