Re-posted from Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign
Sajjad Khosravi, a worker from Izeh in Khuzestan Province, was recently arrested by the Iranian regime’s thugs in Asaluyeh.
Mr Khosravi was taken to an unknown place. So far, there is no information about the reason for the arrest, the charges and the whereabouts of this worker.
On May 15th the regime’s security forces arrested eight workers active in the wave of nationwide strikes known as the 1402 campaign. The 1402 campaign began in late April as a series of strikes among the contract workers of the oil industry against the totally inadequate minimum wage set by the regime for the new Iranian year, demanding pay rises and better working and living conditions.
The Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign strongly condemns the arrest and continuing detention of Sajjad Khosravi by the Iranian regime and calls for his immediate and unconditional release. We hold the regime responsible for his wellbeing. We urge all trade unionists, socialists and other political activists to help us in defending the rights of all workers, political prisoners and social rights’ activists in Iran.
